Bailey's User Reviews

KM 8/14/10: I doubt the [the family that owns Baileys] would stand for a sports bar across the street from their own home. It's not the noise coming from the building that's a particular problem, it's the loud voices of the patrons after they've left. Plus whatever they do Wednesday nights brings out the gigantic pickups that won't park in the parking lot even if there's room. Instead, they park in front of the local homes, leaving no room for anyone who might want to visit us. I'm afraid all this just goes along with a bar wherever it might be, hence our objection to them being there at all, regardless of the "costly" changes they've made. I used to have breakfast and dinner at Cafe Cristo quite frequently, 3-4 times a month, but no matter how good Bailey's breakfast is, not one dollar will they get from me. I think most of my neighbors agree with me.

HK 8/14/10: As an frequent visitor of Baileys, my family and I have had nothing but great service and amazing food. The breakfasts are my favorite and offer good old home cooking. Food is well priced. Every time my family from Seattle comes to visit, we eat at Baileys because the food is so good. We've never had a problem with the tv's nor the restaurant being too loud. The patio is perfect for a warm day and the staff seem really nice and friendly.

4/24/10 WC: As an occasional patron of Bailey's, I must say I was shocked by the editors' review. I have been very pleased with the food, friendly staff, and atmosphere every time I have visited. A group of friends (all professionals within the community) often make this our get-together spot due to its location (between North and South West Albany). I have not been offended by customers nor concerned about being "picked up" by college co-eds; I actually have felt quite at home with the local business owners and prominent community members who patron Bailey's. If you are reading this, please try it before you dismiss Bailey's. It is actually a very nice establishment.

[Ed Note: The following is a note from one of the owners]: Allison Grice writes: Seeing as Albany is a pretty small town, and many people of all sorts from the area frequent Bailey's quite often, do you think it's weird that you are probably calling your own friends "disturbed and creepy"? As far as you've got your nose pointed in the air, you must be friends with someone we've upset. For your information, we have made many changes (even ones that have hurt us financially) to make our neighbors happier. We added arborvitae to attempt to block noise from the parking lot, we close 2 hours earlier during the week, and we close the patio after 10pm every day. A lot of people leave on the weekends when we close down the patio because that is one of the main reasons they come down... We work really hard to provide a safe, fun atmosphere for our patrons. And some people have nothing better to do than complain. We have the best customers any restaurant could ask for. I come read your reviews every so often for a good laugh. I didn't mind your initial impression of us when you came in at the very beginning because we were learning as we went, and a lot has changed since then. But now you are so blatantly rude, it really upsets me. I'm sure if we were a site sponsor we could wipe the toilets with the food before we served it up and you would write a good review, but no thanks.[Ed: site sponsorship has no bearing on reviews] I think being in business this long, and getting more and more busy as we go speaks volumes to your nasty comments. Any time you want to come down to eat during the week, I'm next door. Come get me and we can sit down for a meal together. You can point out whats wrong and I'll listen. Because good people do that. They listen and really know what they're talking about before they speak.
