Downward Dog / Cloud 9 Corvallis User Reviews
9/3/09 RM: Eight thirsty and hungry women decided to check out Cloud
Nine early in the work week and sit outside. The service was really
outstanding from start to finish. We all agreed that the food was good,
but not outstanding. The salads were fresh and inventive. The dishes
were beautifully presented and arrived in a timely manner. We ordered
everything from a hamburger, tacos, salads from the special list, and
soup. The soup was nice and clean in flavor, however the hamburger was
overcooked. If you're looking for a fresh local salad this might be a
good place to try one. A few of the ladies felt the menu was a bit
overpriced and found the food acceptable but underwhelming. Now for the
drinks: we ordered over 10 styles of cocktails to taste our way through
the bar. A Sazerac cocktail was a perfect start for the evening, this
was super smooth and excellent. Next came a round of artsy drinks and
most were tasty and yummy for a hot summer night. Heart of the Valley
was said to be a "perfect summer drink", beautiful in color, subtle and
refreshing. Lotus Blossom was also an extremely good drink, makes you
want to go away someplace tropical! In our opinion, while Cloud 9
excels at the creative cocktail, its efforts at old standard cocktails
(Tom Collins, Whiskey sours, etc.) are inconsistent. So, if you go to
Cloud Nine we think you should stay with the creative cocktails and eat
lots of yummy salads.
2/24/09 HG: Dinner at C9 tonight was a real
pleasure. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming and the staff were all
very friendly, professional and working like a well trained team should.
The drinks and food were delicious and well presented. Theyâ^À^Ùve
managed to capture a very enjoyable aura here that is simultaneously fine
and casual, with the taste of gourmet and the comfort of a summer
afternoon
back yard BBQ. In a word: €Â¦Sweet. Highly recommended.
7/8/08 BC: We finally made it to Cloud Nine and we are glad we did! Went
for a
workday lunch so we did not have a chance to try out any of their drinks.
We had great personalized service as we were the only customers there the
whole time! We tried the grilled fish tacos which were good and the
5-bean burger which was great and came with a nice fresh greens salad (I
think you can also choose fries). There were quite a few interesting
sounding dishes on the menu and we plan to return when we can try a drink
or two.
